Tempat Makan Baru
Last night me and my bf try a new place to eat.
He said that the food is delicious, so i ask him, have you been here before?
He said, no, i havent. But every time i passed here the smell is oh, so tempting...
- -", so based on that reference we decided to give it a go.. Beside, there were seem no other place we can find in that area.
I only hope that his smelling wasn't mistaken.
I recognized the name of the place, "P'Js" is written on a green board. Until then I was still thinking that it's a chinese food restaurant. But on the same board is written : "Grilled seafood".
Mmm.. i started to feel sorry because i didn't feel like wanna eat grilled seafod that night.. Right in front of the entrance, the owner (i think he's the owner, based on the self confident and the excitement that i felt from him) address us very friendly and familiar, showing an ice box full of dead sea creature (hahaha.. but it's true that they're dead n they're not already cooked!) for us to pick. So i pick a fish named Kristi fish (never heard about it before), because i thought it would be enough for both of us. So he said, alright, i'll give it to you for 27 thousand. I said yes, but maybe we could actually do some bargain there, only we were so hungry and let it go.
Then we step inside. The place is quite small. It has only 2 tables for 2 persons, and 2 tables for 6 persons. Well, we were not there for the place, we were there for the food.. The menu only shows drink list, i guess it's because they sell in "all in" package. The owner said we'll get the vegetable and tuna soup for free. (specially for the tuna soup you'll only get it if you eat there, if you take it home, you won't get the tuna soup)
So i ordered a lemon squash and my bf an orange squash. We waited for about 10 mnts for the drink, and 20 mnts for the food. Just enough to make us more hungry and chit chat a bit.
The other owner (i think it's the wife) brought out the plecing kangkung, i dont know this in english, but it's an indonesian vegetable. Made of boiled kangkung (what is it in english?) mixed with spicy chilli sauce. I like the way they cut the vege in small size. Not like the way it ussualy served, in bigger chunks.. (well, it's just my opinion) along with the tuna soup and kobokan (water to wash our hands, just in case we want to eat it with bare hands).
We wait another 5 mnts untill the male owner brought us the grilled Kristi fish (poor Kristi).
Hmm, smelled so good! We tasted the tuna soup first, i think it's cooked in Balinese spice. Delicious. Next the fish and the plecing kangkung. Mmm.. yummy! The fish is served with 3 different chilli sauce, but I only go for the "sambel matah". Delicious.
My bf wanted to order for more soup at first, but then i told him to wait until we finished the free soup. At the end, we didn't come to order the extra soup, because it was all just enough for both of us. And that night, we were satisfied...
We paid 42 thousand rupiah for all. I think it's worth it. Should go there again next time... The female owner said that they're only just open for 6 months
I forget the street name, but the estimate of the location is: from the Jl. Veteran go ahead till you meet the end of the street where u'll see a junction. Turn left (if you turn right you'll meet the GOR Ngurah Rai), then go ahead till the end of the street, turn left.
That's the street and PJ's is on the left side of the street.
Status: Recommended for couple (or non couple) who wants to try a new eating place with medium budget.
